Sunday-School:

Hearing the story of God’s eternal promises and Christ’s unending love is at the core of our Sunday School Hour for ages 3 through 5th grade. For an hour on Sunday mornings (10:20-11:15am), we use the WHIRL Curriculum that follows the church lectionary year.  The first 15 minutes kids and families join with the XALT team for an opening in the Sanctuary.  They sing songs and learn about the theme for the day.  After that they’re divided into age-specific classes and delve deeper into the story with age specific curriculum that engages a variety of senses.  You may register for Sunday-School Here.

Music Ministry:

The Children’s Choirs are a vital part of Christ the King’s music ministry, which is why the children will now meet from mid-August through May.  The Children’s Choirs enjoy singing in Sunday morning worship as well as: the annual Blessing of the Animals service, our annual Christmas Program, and a combined community choral festival with the Notre Dame Children’s Choirs in the spring.  Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings run from 5:45 – 6:30 for 3rd – 6th grades and 6:30 – 7:00 pm for kindergarten – 2nd grade students.

Trunk or Treat:

Trunk or Treat provides children the opportunity to trick-or-treat in a safe, family environment.  People from the congregation decorate their trunks and distribute candy to the community.  After kids are finished trick-or-treating, families continue into the church, for more children activities and to receive a meal, allowing time for faith fellowship.  Many local primary centers are invited to this event.  This year’s Trunk of Treat is on Sunday, October 22 from 5:00-6:30pm.

Parent’s Day Out:

This ministry, traditionally held in December, allows parents to drop their kids at the church for an afternoon.  Children are led in fellowship, play games and sing Christmas carols, complete a service project, create a Christmas present for their parents and decorate Christmas cookies.
