Christ the King has many enriching ministry opportunities for youth in 6th through 12thgrade. Our goal is to provide Christ-centered, age appropriate ministry for youth using: caring conversation, devotion and study, service, rituals and traditions.

Sunday Morning Youth Group

Calling ALL 6th – 12th grade students! YOU are invited to join us for Sunday morning faith formation and relationship building from 10:30 – 11:15 am, in our new and improved youth room (205). We use the “Taking Faith Home” Lectionary Series or other devotional guides and videos as a starting point for learning, Bible reflection to deepen our understanding of God’s word, and group discussion to learn how our faith both helps us in everyday situations and shapes how we evaluate current events.  If you stop in often enough, you will quickly learn we are occasionally treated to a doughnut or two!  Make sure to bring your friends often – because at Christ the King, all are welcome!

For all 6th & 8th grade students, classes are on Wednesday evenings, 7:30 – 8:30 pm. This three year curriculum focuses on Luther’s Small Catechism, the Bible, and living out our Baptismal Call in our everyday lives. Our time together includes study, prayer, skits, videos, music and discussion. We welcome questions and doubts. Classes will resume this fall.  Contact Craig Swendsen, the Director of Faith Formation, for more information.

Confirmation Camp:

Confirmation Camp is a companion to Confirmation.  Any 6th-8th grade student is welcome to join us at Camp Lutherwald in Howe, IN, for a week of experiencing God’s love and promises in His beautiful creation.  There is boating, swimming, games, campfires, bible study, chapel, and crafts.  Come meet new and old friends from Lutheran churches all over the state.  We will be going June 18 through 23.  Please to find more information and to register.

Grab all your friends (rising 6th graders and up) and up and head to CtK for this fun outdoor event! Flour Bouts is a high energy cross-over game of “Capture the Flag” meets “Laser Tag” using “bombs” made out of flour wrapped in tissue. Use the bombs to tag your opponent and eliminate them from the game.  On June 11 at 3:00 p.m., we will play multiple rounds and then have a cookout.  The event will even feature a round of ADULTS vs. YOUTH! Make sure you wear old clothes that can be discarded!!  Watch the youth Facebook page and weekly announcements for more information and look for a signup sheet on the bulletin board – coming soon!
JUNE 9 @ 6:30 p.m.: Meet at CtK for flour bomb prep, decorating, food and fellowship.
JUNE 11 @ 3:00 p.m.: Gather at CtK for the Main Event
