Cantors/Assisting Ministers

WHO: 6th grade – adults

“What is the difference between Cantors and Assisting Ministers?”

CANTORS

(those who lead the singing of the Psalm each week)
Scheduled September through early June

ASSISTING MINISTERS

(those who lead the congregation in the spoken Prayers of the People,
the Offertory Prayer, the Communion Prayer, and the Dismissal)
Scheduled YEAR-ROUND

The ministry of the cantor/assisting minister involves an ongoing commitment to the community of faith and to its sung participation in prayer. Volunteering to be a cantor or an assisting minister can be a very rewarding experience; it brings out one’s own musical, liturgical, and pastoral gifts. It is also a great option for those who love to sing but cannot commit to the weekly sanctuary choir schedule.

Contact Director of Music, Hillary Doerries, for more information and how to get involved:  hdoerries@ctkluth.com or leave her a voicemail at the church: (574) 272-4306

Special Music

WHO: All ages are welcome
WHEN: Year-round
WHERE: In the sanctuary during Sunday morning worship (8:15 and/or 11:15 am services)
WHAT: Most special musical offerings are scheduled during the summer months, but if you have something to share sometime between September through May, you are welcome and encouraged to volunteer to share your special gift. If you are a singer and need an accompanist, one will be provided for you. In the past, CtK has enjoyed special offerings from vocal and piano soloists, duets, instrumental solos, liturgical dance, and dramatic readings. If you’re interested in sharing your gifts, please contact Director of Music, Hillary Doerries, for more information:
