Children

Picture
Kids are vital members of God’s kingdom—and of congregational life at Christ the King!

CtK offers many opportunities for children and families to worship, learn, and grow together. Our goals are to provide Christ-centered, age-appropriate ministry for children from preschool through fifth grade; to foster meaningful relationships within and beyond our congregation; and to have fun while helping children deepen their faith.

Children are ALWAYS welcome at CtK… in worship, in the classroom, and beyond! Here are just a few of many ways we seek to serve families with children:
Family-Friendly Worship
Kids are welcome at any of our worship services. The 9:30 am (contemporary) and 11:15 am (traditional) services both feature a young people’s message led by the pastors. A nursery space is open at all times and staffed during the 9:30 service. Children’s books and activity bags are also available during worship.
Sunday School
All children from age 2 through grade 5 are invited to join us on Sunday mornings from 10:30 to 11:10 am. Students meet in their age-specific classrooms for Bible stories, games, crafts, fellowship, and service projects. Classes are held in the rooms off the narthex from September through May. New faces are always welcome!
Milestones Ministry
Throughout the year, children and their parents are invited to participate in classes that prepare them for various milestones in their faith life, such as First Communion and receipt of their first Bible. All children who complete a Milestone class receive a commemorative certificate and are recognized during a special worship service.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer, CtK is proud to offer free VBS-style programming for children in the congregation and the community at large. Join us for Bible stories, skits, games, crafts, songs, snacks, service projects—and a whole lot of fun! All are welcome!
Intergenerational Lent and Advent Activities
During Lent and Advent, children, parents, grandparents, and others come together for a collaborative event that highlights the theme of the season while emphasizing that God’s grace knows no age limits.
Family-Focused Fellowship
There’s always something fun on the CtK church calendar… movie nights, bonfires, talent shows, scavenger hunts, baseball games, and more! Bring the entire family!

At CtK, there is a place for everyone, no matter their age. Come and see what makes our faith community such a special place for children and families!
