Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for encouraging, supporting and facilitating the spiritual growth and faith development of youth in middle school and high school. With primary direction & oversight guidance from the Pastors and the Youth Ministry Committee, plan, coordinate, manage, communicate and participate in faith developing activities and events for the youth of CtK.
Plan
Yearly Schedule for Sunday morning classes.
Curriculum, topics, and interactive learning that engages youth at their age level and interest.
A service-oriented or faith building youth trip each year.
Coordinate
With CtK Staff, committees, and volunteers to resource youth events and activities such as:
• Youth Confirmation events and schedule for Confirmation Sunday
• Graduation Recognition for CtK high school seniors and college graduates
• "Sunday Night Live" (aka: SNL) Activities
Manage
Manage the Youth Ministry budget, including fund raisers.
Work with the Youth Ministry Committee to generate ideas, create plans, and implement a variety of monthly youth events.
Recruit, coordinate, and encourage adult mentors and teachers.
Communicate
Engage with and inform the youth and their families through multiple communication channels (including email, social media, CtK publications, and Sunday service announcements) to promote opportunities, events, and activities.
Communicate and engage with the pastors to provide coordination and administrative support for their role in youth activities.
Participate
Attend monthly youth ministry committee meetings and weekly staff meetings.
In events, build positive relationships with the youth and help the youth build relationships with eachother.
With the Child and Adult Faith Formation Coordinator, partner on intergenerational/family events.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
College degree in relevant area of study preferred.
